1. About Your Instructor
These Terms and Conditions constitute an agreement between you (the student) and Hatem Mohamed, an RSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI Ref: 43978), trading as 1Step Driving School.
Hatem Mohamed operates as a self-employed independent driving instructor affiliated with National Driving School (NDS). 1Step Driving School is a trading name only and is not a registered legal entity.
By booking a lesson, you agree to these Terms and Conditions in full.
2. Eligibility
To book and participate in driving lessons, you must:
- Hold a valid Irish Learner Permit for Category B vehicles
- Be at least 17 years of age
- Be physically and medically fit to drive
- Inform Hatem of any medical condition, disability or circumstance that may affect your ability to drive safely
Hatem reserves the right to refuse or end a lesson if he believes a student does not meet these requirements.
3. Booking
Lessons are booked directly with Hatem via WhatsApp (085 206 6585) or phone. A booking is confirmed when Hatem explicitly confirms the date, time and location with you.
Hatem will provide a pickup location and estimated arrival time when confirming each booking.
4. Payment
- Payment is made directly to Hatem Mohamed. There is no central payment processing.
- Accepted payment methods: cash, Revolut, or bank transfer
- Standard rate: from €40 per hour
- Package rates (EDT course, pre-test preparation) are agreed directly with Hatem before commencement
- Payment is due at the end of each lesson unless a package has been paid in advance
- All pricing is agreed before lessons begin. Hatem will not alter agreed pricing without prior notice
5. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation by the student:
- You must give a minimum of 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson
- Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice will incur a cancellation fee of the full lesson price
- Non-attendance without any notice (no-show) will be charged at the full lesson rate
- Cancellations made 48 hours or more in advance will not be charged and can be rescheduled at no cost
Cancellation by Hatem:
- In the unlikely event that Hatem must cancel a lesson at short notice, he will contact you as soon as possible
- No cancellation fee will be charged to the student in these circumstances
- A replacement lesson will be offered at the earliest available time
6. EDT (Essential Driver Training)
The RSA Essential Driver Training programme consists of 12 mandatory lessons which must be completed before sitting the driving test. The following applies:
- EDT lessons must be completed in accordance with RSA guidelines and cannot be rushed or condensed
- A minimum gap is required between some EDT lessons as specified by the RSA
- You must hold a valid Learner Permit throughout the entire EDT programme
- EDT records are logged on the RSA's online system — it is your responsibility to ensure your RSA account is active and accessible
7. Your Responsibilities as a Student
- Arrive at the agreed pickup location on time and ready to begin your lesson
- Carry your valid Learner Permit during every lesson — lessons cannot proceed without it
- Do not consume alcohol or any substance that may impair your ability to drive before a lesson
- Inform Hatem in advance of any medical condition or circumstance that may affect the lesson
- Follow Hatem's instruction at all times during the lesson for your own safety and the safety of other road users
- Treat Hatem with respect — abusive or threatening behaviour will result in the lesson being ended immediately
8. Hatem's Right to End a Lesson
Hatem reserves the right to end a lesson at any point if he considers it unsafe to continue, or if a student is behaving in an abusive, threatening or otherwise unacceptable manner. In such cases, the full lesson fee remains payable.
9. Liability
Hatem Mohamed holds the relevant insurance required for RSA Approved Driving Instructors operating in Ireland. His vehicle is insured for driving tuition. However:
- Hatem Mohamed and National Driving School (NDS) accept no liability for personal injury or property damage arising from a student's own negligence or failure to follow instructions
- Any damage to the tuition vehicle caused by the student's actions may be charged to the student at cost
- Hatem accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings left in the vehicle
10. Refunds
Hatem operates a strict no-refund policy on lessons already completed. For pre-paid lesson packages:
- Unused lessons in a pre-paid package may be refunded on a pro-rata basis if the student can no longer continue lessons for a legitimate reason (e.g. medical grounds, relocation)
- Refund requests must be made in writing (via WhatsApp or text message) and are at Hatem's discretion
- Lessons cancelled by the student with less than 48 hours' notice are not refundable
11. Data Protection
Hatem Mohamed collects and processes your personal data for the purpose of providing driving lessons and managing lesson bookings. Your data is handled in accordance with GDPR and Irish data protection law. For full details, see the Privacy Policy.
12. Complaints
If you have a complaint about your lessons or this service, please contact Hatem Mohamed directly in the first instance by WhatsApp or phone at 085 206 6585. Hatem takes all feedback seriously and will respond promptly.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
14. Changes to These Terms
Hatem Mohamed reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The current version will always be available at 1stepdriving.ie/terms. Continued use of the booking service after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
